JERRY SCOTT HARDIN JANUARY 26,1951 - MARCH 24,2025 -------------------------------------------------------------------- Jerry Scott Hardin (1951-2025) Passed away peacefully - but not without a great fight - surrounded by his beloved family on March 24, 2025 in Florida. Jerry was born in Nagoya, Japan at Kadena Air Force Base to Charles and Mary Jane Hardin on January 26, 1951. Jerry was known for so many things but where to begin is the hard part. Jerry was the light of his own parents’ life. He was a wild and crazy red-headed kid and could do no wrong in his parents’ eyes. He marched to the beat of his own life's drum; he did whatever he wanted to do and didn’t care what anyone thought, which made for an adventurous life! Jerry created a life for his entire family that started long ago when he moved from South Dakota to California and then moved his family back to South Dakota. He wanted to raise his girls on top of Strawberry Hill because he wanted them to have a wonderful childhood and be close to his parents and Judy's parents, making sure the girls would know their Grandparents. Jerry was all about FAMILY. Jerry and Judy’s love story was truly one for the ages. The two had been together since they were 13 and 14 years old. On June 1, 1968, Jerry married the love of his life, Judy Rodocker. They were not only partners in life but also partners in business. Together they raised their three beloved daughters- Julie, Joy and Jill. And they supported their family by starting a local flooring store, J. HARDIN INTERIORS, INC in Deadwood, South Dakota. In true “Jerry” fashion, he eventually decided it was time for the next family adventure which meant moving to Florida. In 1991, Jerry and Judy started their next business venture in Florida and opened Treasure Coast Carpet and Interiors, Inc – this would be the beginning of his family business legacy. In 2006, Jerry and Judy bought acreage in White Springs, FL and built a family log cabin and ranch- aptly named "LOG LAKE". Jerry loved the cows, donkeys, goats, chickens and roosters, horses, and Deloris the pig. Mowing, hauling hay and feed and riding his tractors were some of his favorite things to do. Jerry was always finding ways to keep all of the family together and the cabin was a place of love and a place where great memories were made for the entire family. Jerry's kindness, generosity, and love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. He believed in building long-lasting, loving relationships and memories that will stand the test of time. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Jane Hardin, and his father-in-law, Bueford Rodocker. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 13th at Treasure Coast Carpet and Interiors, Inc. from 1:00pm to 4:00pm (150 N.
