Grace E. Scarola June 24, 1925 – January 3, 2024 Our amazing Grace has found her path home to her husband, John Scarola, who predeceased her in 2006. Grace lived these past years with unquestionable strength as she watched her family grow from her own six children, to her nineteen grand-children and her forty-nine great grand-children. She was our leader, taking us on journeys near and far and keeping us bound together in love. Grace is survived by her children: Jack and Anita Scarola of Jupiter, FL, Tom and Suzanne Scarola of Northport, NY, Susan Scarola and Thomas Hudson of Fort Pierce, FL, Kenneth and Mary Kay Scarola of Murrysville, PA, James and Carol Scarola of Stuart, FL and Ellen and Thomas Ehrlich of North Richland Hills, TX. Grace and John were childhood sweethearts who found each other as teenagers in Brooklyn NY. They married in 1946 immediately after John earned his Navy commission. Grace broke the mold early on and in addition to raising her family while John’s work frequently took him away, she worked outside her home. In this way John and Grace formed a foundation which provided strength to their own parents, their siblings, their own children and their many nieces and nephews. So many looked to them for guidance and depended on their wisdom. But life with Grace was never just work. She and John laughed and partied and loved with friends; friendships that lasted all of their lives. As children we listened to this raucous joy and learned that opening our homes to all was just what families do. On any given day, you could find Grace dressed to the nines, as elegant a woman as you might ever meet. Her smile was always present and she greeted each day with a "good morning" that gave no hint of her own struggles as the years took their toll. Yes, our queen, our mother, our grand-mother, our great-grandmother, our aunt, our friend, our neighbor. Our AMAZING GRACE. The primary public observance of Grace’s passing will be a Celebration of Life currently being planned with details to be announced later. All will be invited to attend that celebration. Should anyone wish to attend, there will also be a funeral Mass at St. Patrick Church in Palm Beach Gardens this Saturday at 10am. Grace will then be interred at Riverside Memorial Cemetery in Jupiter. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Grace’s name may be made to The Lord’s Place to benefit families facing the challenges of homelessness.
