Deirdre "Dede" North

Mrs. Deirdre “Dede” Kempa North, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and homemaker, passed away tragically in an automobile accident on August 2, 2025, alongside her precious granddaughter, Jade Anna North. Born in 1948 in Jacksonville, Florida, Dede was a lifelong resident of Palm Beach County, Florida, where she touched the lives of many with her warmth, dedication to family, and gentle spirit. A 1968 graduate of Palm Beach High School, Dede completed training as a dental hygienist before dedicating her life to her family. She married her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Scott North, and together they built a home rooted in love and traditional family values, which she passionately instilled in her children. Dede remained a devoted homemaker, making her family her number one priority until Bob’s passing. Dede had a particular fondness for sea turtles, cherishing them for their grace and resilience. Her nurturing heart and unwavering commitment to her loved ones left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Dede was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Scott North; her parents, Daniel D. Kempa Jr. and Arnette A. Kempa; and her granddaughter, Jade Anna North, who tragically passed away with her in the same accident. She is survived by her son, Dr. Brian S. North, his wife, Dr. Breanna M. North, and their children, Riley S. North and Emma K. North, of Dothan, AL; her son, Michael B. North, his wife, Juanita L. North, and their son, Dristin J. North, of Jupiter, FL; her brother, Daniel D. Kempa III, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; and her sister, Debra K. Harris, of Denison, TX. Dede’s legacy of love, family and compassion will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she and Jade rest in peace. A Visitation in Dede’s honor will be held at Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home, 250 Center St, Jupiter, FL, on August 16, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Memorial Service will be held at 1:00PM. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Jupiter Elks Lodge, 10070 W Indiantown Rd, Jupiter, FL.
