Daniel John Emery

Daniel John Emery, age 22 beloved son and “buddy” of Rick Emery passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026. He was born in Jupiter, Florida on February 11, 2004, and passed away just twelve days following his 22nd birthday. He spent his whole life enjoying the bright sunshine at his home in Jupiter. He loved fishing, often in a favorite spot that might result in trespassing, kayaking, basketball, billiards, lying on the beach in a hammock, and collecting shoes including the latest pair which were bright orange and could be seen from far away! Most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He took pleasure in hiding behind doors to scare his father, a trick he learned from him. He loved food, especially spicy stuff and preferred savory food to sweets (except when it came to a cookie or two that his father thought he would not have to share). Even though he thoroughly enjoyed eating, Daniel was not the best cook – he burnt ramen noodles in the microwave because he forgot to add water. Daniel brought joy to everyone he encountered. We all have been blessed having had Daniel in our lives. Daniel is survived by his father Rick Emery, grandfather John Lord, his Uncles Bill, Mike (Lisa), Greg, and Brian Emery, his aunts Jeanne Emery and Mary Wiley; his cousins Anastasia Tang (Dat), Catherine Zelios, Jacob Emery, Kyle Emery (Chelsea), Kaitlyn Emery, and Ian Wiley (Leah), Grandma Brenda, Steve and Theresa Volk, the Gorzynski family (who he called the Gordinkies and considered his second family), as well as so many dearly loved friends and colleagues (too many to mention by name). He is predeceased by his adoring mother Angela, his grandmother Anita Lord, his grandparents Don and Ann Emery, his uncle Michael Wiley and his aunt Diane Emery. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, March 15, 2026 from 5-8pm with a service taking place at 6pm, at the Abacoa Golf Course, 105 Barbados Drive, Jupiter, Florida. If you send flowers, the venue requests they be delivered to the Golf Course on Saturday, March 14, 2026. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Daniel’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
