Allan Roderic Schultz

Allan R Schultz (1935-2022) Allan Roderic Schultz, 87, passed away October 17, 2022 after a long illness. Allan was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 15, 1935. He graduated from Lyons Township High School, La Grange, IL and earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree in General Engineering from the University of Illinois where he met Glenda Lichtenberger. They were married in Carmi, IL on August 25, 1957. Allan began his career with the Norton Company in Worcester, Ma. He moved his young family to Florida in 1963 to work as a structural engineer for Pratt & Whitney. Allan retired in 1988 and continued his education in aeronautical engineering at the University of Florida. After retiring, Allan spent his mornings maintaining his rental houses and afternoons “working” at his aircraft hangar. He was a licensed private pilot, built a sailboat from mahogany, crafted several pieces of fine furniture, and restored airplanes and several antique Fords. He was also the consummate adventure traveler, rarely taking a normal vacation. Allan was a member of First Presbyterian Church in North Palm Beach, where he was active as a Sunday school teacher and Fun Art’s camp instructor. He was also an officer and active member of The Gideons International. Allan is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur B and Joy Schultz, his daughter-in-law, Myrian Schultz, and his sister, Patricia Le Var. He is survived by Glenda his wife of 65 years; his sons Kirk of Jupiter FL, Scott (Ann) of Macon GA, Randy (Debbie) of Willow Springs NC; his grandchildren Bryan Pierce, Tyler Schultz, Ashley (Aaron) Kenyon, Andrew Schultz, Matthew Schultz, Joseph (Kate) Schultz; his great-grandchildren Lauren Pierce, Adelyn Kenyon; and his sister Marilyn (Stephen) Swanson of Iowa City, IA. A memorial service will be held Friday, Oct. 28, 2022, at 11:00AM, at First Presbyterian Church, 717 Prosperity Farms Rd, North Palm Beach, FL, with a reception following.
