Winifred (Dorr) Dworak

Winifred Dorr Dworak, age 86 of West Hartford, CT and South Yarmouth, MA, wife of the late William J. Dworak passed away October 17, 2014 at Harborpoint of Centerville, MA. She was born in Janesville, WI, daughter of Winifred and Charles Dorr, grew up in Milton, WI and graduated from Milton High School, where her father was the Superintendent of Schools. She received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin (Madison) Business School, where she met her husband. She also received a Master degree in Education from Central Connecticut State University. She was employed in Market Research at General Electric Co. in Louisville, KY and taught in the Plainville, CT school system for 17 years. She was an active member of PEO (Philanthropic Education Organization) and the Alpha Gamma Delta alumni group of Hartford. She was a member and attended the First Church of Christ Congregational in West Hartford. Win was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed her children and grandchildren.. She enjoyed winter vacations in St. Croix and Florida and numerous trips abroad with her husband. Win and her husband were residents of West Hartford for 41 years after also having lived in Bridgeport, Ct, Louisville, KY, Schenectady, NY and Cincinnati, OH. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Claire and Gary Olsen of YarmouthPort, MA, daughter Cynthia Muzyka of Yarmouth Port, MA and her grandchildren Tim & Katie Olsen, Craig Olsen, Sarah Muzyka and Alexandra Muzyka. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 24, 2014 at the Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home 136 South Main St., West Hartford, CT. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in West Hartford. Calling hours will be one hour prior to the service from 10 – 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
