Wendy Ann Cawley Maus

Wendy Ann Cawley Maus was born in Queens, N.Y. on October 7, 1956 and peacefully passed away on Jan 14, 2024. Her optimism and love for all will be greatly missed. She grew up on Long Island with parents Judith and Vincent and her brother David, attended WC Mepham High School and later graduated from SUNY Buffalo with a Degree in Art Education. In those years she developed a love of photography, animals, the environment and all things good. She started friendships that lasted through her entire life. She married James in 1984 and they moved to Florida and settled in Jupiter where they spent most of the past 40 years. She had a successful career in Advertising and Marketing before moving into the Non Profit world which she did until her last days. She worked as an administrator of the Marine Life Center for several years, enabling the success of the Center to move from its home spun location to its prominent facility. She was on the ground floor of the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary as it was created and built up. She also volunteered for 10 years with the Jupiter Performing Arts Fund where she ran the New Lives for Old Notes delivering over $100,000 of musical instruments to the Jupiter Public School Music Programs. And of course the biggest love and impact of her life was her family. Her daughter Sarah was born in 1988 and son Matthew in 1995. They were the light of her life and that has continued with Sarah and her partner Ryan raising their 2 beautiful girls Harper Jean and Hunter Ann. Her son Matthew is an Engineer, avid fisherman and overall good guy. She was incredibly proud of everything about her children and grandchildren and was thrilled to be called Bubbe, as her mother Judith was called. Wendy was always ready for another adventure, a trip, a party, concert, boat ride, antique picking, crazy days, crazy nights…. She made many people’s lives full, especially her husband Jim who’s personal and professional success is all due to the love and support of Wendy for the past 45 years. Beyond her immediate family Wendy had a big extended family stretching from Canada to Miami and all parts between. And beyond her family, Wendy has friends around the globe, She will be missed by so many… A Memorial Service will be held at 12PM on Friday, January 19, 2024 at Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home, 250 Center St., Jupiter, FL.
