Sylvia M. (Bonney) Glover

Sylvia M. (Bonney) Glover, beloved wife of Paul T. Glover of West Hartford died December 15th at home after a long illness. She was born on August 2, 1934 in West Hartford where she made her final residence the past 40 years. She was the daughter of the late Lillian Bonney and Harvey Bonney. For several years, Sylvia ran a vintage clothing and antique shop in Manchester and was a dealer at the Brimfield Antique Show. Prior to that, she worked as a secretary at Dunbar Armored Security and the Chandler Evans Facility of Colt Industries. She was an avid UCONN Women’s basketball fan and could be found glued to the television during any game. As a supporter of girl’s soccer, Sylvia held numerous team pool parties, coached a Travel team and chaperoned one to a California Tournament. Sylvia also enjoyed being hostess at many family gatherings around the pool, as well as at Wampanoag Country Club and the Fernwood restaurant In addition to her husband, Sylvia is survived by her two daughters, Karen Archer, and husband Joe of South Windsor and Kimberly Polo, and her husband Rob, of West Hartford; a step son, Paul Glover Jr. of West Hartford, ten cherished grandchildren, Jesse Melanie, Danny, Amber, Lauren, Nick, Megan, Ryan, Zack and Jordan; two sisters, Noreen Murphy and Peggy Loveland; a brother, John Bonney; a step sister, Pat Ellis; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Suzanne Geaski and a step daughter, Renee Glover. Sylvia wished to remain home during her final days. This would not have been possible without the help of immediate and extended family. Special thanks to Wendy Rezende, her niece, Jeffrey Palmer, her nephew, and Linda Pouliot, family friend, for all their loving care during this time. The family would also like to thank the Hospice Team at Hebrew Health Care, especially Candi Seaman. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 18, 2010 at the Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home, 136 South Main Street, West Hartford. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford.
