Robert L. O’Rourke July 9, 1934- March 15, 2021 Robert L. O’Rourke, 86, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL passed away peacefully in his sleep following a short illness. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Bob graduated from the University of Pittsburgh where he met the love of his life, Nancy. Bob was very proud of his service in the United States Army and he and Nancy were stationed in Mannheim, Germany following graduation. Bob and Nancy enjoyed 64 wonderful years together. Bob owned an electrical contracting business in Pittsburgh. When not working, you could find him on the golf course at Churchill Valley Country Club, horseback riding or traveling. He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan enjoying Pitt and Steeler football games. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Jupiter, FL. He was the proud father of Linda Johnson (James) Charlotte, NC, Karen Mann (Orrin) Minneapolis, MN and Michael O’Rourke, Palm Beach Gardens, FL, 5 grandchildren, Brandon, Kelly, Amanda, Trevor and Connor and 8 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Donald O’Rourke, Pittsburgh, PA and nephew Thomas and niece Meg. Visitation will be Friday, March 19 from 11:00 am to noon followed by a memorial service at Taylor and Modeen Funeral Home, 250 Center Street, Jupiter, FL 33458. Burial will be held on April 1, 2021 at South Florida National Veterans cemetery. To honor Bob’s memory, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
