R. Joan Nestor

March 20, 1918 - January 26, 2012

R. Joan Nestor of Tequesta, FL passed away Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Clare Bridge Assisted Living. She was a long time resident of Tequesta, moving here in 1983 with her husband, Bill to be with her daughter Carol and son-in-law Steve. She moved here from Coral Gables, FL. Mrs. Nestor attended Hunter College in NY. She enjoyed many years working as a realtor in the Miami Area. She was a former member of Coco Plum Women's Club and Coral Gables Police Pistol Club, Coral Gables, FL; Travelers Palm Garden Club in Jupiter, FL. She was a retired government employee having been employed by the U.S. Civil Service Commission, Postal Inspection Service and Air Postal Transport. Mrs. Nestor was also a member of National Assn. of Retired Federal Employees. She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Nestor, her step-son Roger Nestor and her sister, Eileen Mulry. Survivors include her daughter Carol (Steve) Floyd; 2 grandsons, Rory Floyd and Andrew Floyd; one step-daughter, Clare (Fred) Faller and her 5 children. She is also survived by Roger Nestor's two children. A visitation will be held Thursday, February 2, 2012 from 5-8 PM at Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home, 250 Center St., Jupiter, FL. A Funeral Service will be celebrated 10 AM, Friday, February 3, 2012 at Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park, Tequesta, FL.
