Olive Marie DeFilippi, 78, of Jupiter, passed away Tuesday March 19, 2013. Beloved daughter of Preston and Eva Taylor and beloved husband of 58 years, Dominic DeFilippi Jr. She was born in Jacksonville, North Carolina in 1935 and a resident of Jupiter for 22 years. Prior to moving to Jupiter, Marie managed the Officers' Club at US Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York for 20 years. She owned and operated Domenicos' Italian Restaurant in the Chasewood Plaza and Maries' Pizza in Sims Creek Plaza both of Jupiter. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary at Rood Williams American Legion Post #271 in Tequesta, the Moose Lodge #2237 in Jupiter and the VFW Hall Bryant Post #10132 in Hobe Sound. She volunteered for many years as a member of motor aid at the Jupiter Medical Center. She is survived by her husband Dominic DeFilippi Jr; Janice Sue Murray who is predeceased; Debra (Patrick) McCavanagh of New York; Sandra (Kevin) Raber of Maryland; Dominic (Patricia) DeFilippi of Florida; Barbara (Richard) Castro of Virginia; Karen (Jeffrey) Low of Nevada; she was Nana and was surrounded and loved by 17 Grandchildren. There will be a visitation held at Taylor and Modeen Funeral Home Sunday March 24, 2013 from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church in Jupiter on Monday March 25, 2013 at 10:00 am. An entombment will immediately follow the funeral at Riverside Memorial Park in Tequesta. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations may be made out to St. Marys Medical Center Trauma and ICU Unit, 901 45th Street, West Palm Beach, Florida 33407.
