Matthew A. Rano Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Matthew Alexander (Matt) Rano, 31, of Port St. Lucie, FL, beloved son, brother, grandson and uncle, passed away at home on March 19,2022 after a long illness. Matt was born on February 19, 1991 in Worcester, MA, and moved to Jupiter, FL with his family in 2004. He graduated from Cardinal Newman High School and attended the Burnett Honors College at the University of Central Florida. Matt was a talented and gifted writer and worked as a financial copywriter for many years, most recently with Weiss Ratings in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Matt played multiple sports growing up and was an outstanding ice hockey defenseman, playing high-level travel hockey through high school and continuing on to play club hockey while at UCF. He was an avid golfer and loved going to the beach and spending time with his family, those indeed were his happy places. He was a devoted supporter of all the Boston sports teams, especially the Patriots, Red Sox and Bruins and had the good fortune to celebrate many championship moments with his family by his side. Matt has left a hole in our hearts that never will be filled, and we long for the day when we will all be reunited with him in heaven. Matt is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Anthony F. and Kathleen (Kelley) Rano, Jr. He is survived by his parents Jeff and Tina (Paskalis) Rano, two sisters, Carrie A. and Brianna E. Rano, his maternal grandparents, Steven and Beverly (Eisner) Paskalis, a niece, Kaia Brielle Brodeur, all of Jupiter, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Private funeral services will be held at 11:45am, on Saturday March 26th, by invitation only. Taylor and Modeen Funeral Home, in Jupiter, is directing arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Matt’s name to the Kaia Brodeur Scholarship Fund c/o Merrill Lynch.
