Lawrence "Virgil" Newton

Lawrence "Virgil" Newton, 85, passed away peacefully at home on May 19, 2018 after a long illness and was surrounded by family. Virgil was born in Leesburg, VA, on May 4, 1933. After serving in the Army as a Sergeant, he later married Linda Taylor in 1958. Moving to Florida in 1969, he spent almost 50 years in the Jupiter area with two careers. First known as "Newt the Telephone Man" and then, Virgil the Realtor & Broker, where he brought laughter and joy to all he met. Virgil is survived by his wife Linda of 60 years; 3 children, Larry Newton, Suzanne Short, and Kristina Smallwood; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at 4:00 pm at Taylor and Modeen Funeral Home with a reception to follow at the Newton residence.
