Joseph A. Walsh 98 of Tequesta, Fl, passed away January 5, 2012. Born in Manchester, MA, he was schooled in Brookline, MA through his early years. Mr. Walsh was a student athlete and graduated from Boston College in the Class of '37 . He served in the U.S. Army during World War II with South Pacific action in Quajalein, Eniwetok and Guam. The post war era included his marriage (1946) and establishment of a successful business of over forty years in Syracuse, NY. He retired and moved to Tequesta in the early 80's. Mr. Walsh was an avid golf enthusiast who specialized not only in talent, but also in tournament score board recordings. the Art of Calligraphy became his forte' and he shared his hobby as an instructor of calligraphy in the local Lighthouse Art Center and Museum. He is survived by two children, R. Joseph (Lynn) Walsh of Syracuse, NY and Sharon Purtell of Buffalo, NY; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren, all of upstate, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10 AM, Monday, January 9, 2011 at St. Jude Catholic Church.
