Jennifer Parsons Cray

July 16, 1946 - August 18, 2021

Jennifer Parsons Cray passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at her home with her husband, Charlie, by her side after a short but brave battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born to Carl K. and Glenna Brady Parsons on July 16, 1946 in Winchester, Indiana. She graduated from Lee L. Driver High School with the class of 1964 and attended Ball State University. Jenny was always drawn to children and children’s social issues. She served as a Girl Scout Leader, Cub Scout council member, and volunteered extensively for Head Start, The Children’s Place, Connor’s Nursery and The Literacy Coalition. She loved her hometown and enjoyed serving as the Secretary of the Winchester Chamber of Commerce and working with merchants and professionals to keep the community thriving. She also enjoyed serving as a comptroller for Syler Inc., a seed company that provided grain for this farming community. In 1978, Jennifer relocated to Juno, Florida, where she served as a secretary, receptionist and bookkeeper for the Old Port Cove Resale office. In 1980, she married her “Darlin’ Irishman”, Charlie Cray, and together they raised their children (Heidi Kiselewski, Tad Johnson and Murphy Cray). Jenny was predeceased by her parents, her brothers, Mike Parsons and C. Kelly Parsons and her sisters, Roweta Parsons and Pat Cheesman. She is survived by her loving husband, Charlie, daughter, Heidi, son, Murphy, son, Tad, son in law, Don Kiselewski, grandchildren, Katelyn, Jackson and Chelsea Kiselewski, sister, Sharon Seim and her husband, Don, brother Tim Parsons and his wife, Ruth Ann and several nieces and nephews. A service will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church on Saturday, August 28th at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations made in Jennifer’s name to St. Jude Children’s research hospital.
