George Arthur Banks Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

George A. Banks 79, of Jupiter, Florida passed away peacefully and with dignity on Saturday, October 15, 2011 surrounded by his loving care givers at The Courtyard Gardens Rehabilitation Center, Jupiter, Florida. Born in Detroit Michigan on January 24, 1932 he grew up in Muskegon, Michigan graduating class valedictorian in 1950 from St.Mary's High School. He attended the University of Notre Dame where he majored in aeronautical engineering. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame in 1954 he moved to Connecticut and was employed as an engineer for Pratt and Whitney Aircraft. He was instrumental in the design and fabrication of the first Boeing 747. In 1983 he relocated to Jupiter, Florida. He was a devoted member of St. Peters Catholic Church. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his second wife Lorraine Manning Banks and his son Timothy Banks. He leaves his two daughters Suellen Banks of Sebastian, Florida and Kathleen Banta and her husband Donald and their two children Ashley and Matthew of Unionville,Ct. George's family would like to extend their sincere thank you and appreciation to the staff at the Courtyard Gardens and The Hospice Red Team of Jupiter for their passionate care and compassion. The family would also like to thank Marnie Poncy for being his guardian angel. Upon his request funeral services will be private.
