Doug Long age 67, of Palm City, formerlyof Lake Worth, passed away suddenly on Thursday, while playing pickleball with his good friend, Joe. Doug was a 1962 graduate of Lake Worth High School. Always a competitor, he started breaking swim records at age 10 and went on to receive a full scholarship for swimming to the University of Alabama. An avid sports fan, Doug enjoyed ball games, bowling, fishing, ski biking, swimming, but most of all playing pickleball. There will be a hole in the heart of many including his wife, Ann; sister, Kamaya (Marsha); brother-in-law, John (Gloria) Dickins; daughters, Ann-Marie (Dan) Crowley and Ashleigh (Bill) Hawkins; grandchildren, Trey, Brooke, Dawson, Terry and Alyssa, a nephew and nieces, as well as numerous friends and acquaintances. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at 2:30 PM at the Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home, 250 Center Street, Jupiter, FL.
