Cornelia Elizabeth "Corry" Lodes

October 19, 1948 - June 13, 2012

Cornelia Elizabeth Lodes (Corry) Passed away June 13, 2012 unexpectedly of a Heart Attack at the age of 63 in Jupiter, Florida. She was born October 19, 1948 in Rotterdam, Netherlands. In her early twenties she left Holland to come to America as an Au Pair. There she met her husband Harry C. Lodes. They were married August 11, 1971 in Mexico and began their life together in New York. Her life would later take her to Ft Lauderdale, Deerfield and eventually Jupiter, Florida. She enjoyed riding her bike, cooking and gardening with a special love for cactuses. She loved to share whatever she had with those around her. She would tell you that her greatest achievement would be her children. She worked for the Palm Beach County School District for about 10 years. At the time of her passing she worked in the cafeteria at Limestone Creek Elementary school in Jupiter. She had an amazing sense of humor often understanding even the most poorly told joke. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Harry Lodes who resides in Jupiter Florida. Her sisters Nel, Wil, Fransien, Gon, Anneka, and Cobie who live in Holland and brother Bram who lives in Deerfield will remember Corry as fun, energetic and with a great sense of humor. Her memory lives on through her two children Bram Lodes 28 and Katie Lodes 22 who describe their mother as a ray of sunshine. She was predeceased by her parents Frans and Petronella Krijger. The service for Corry will be 3:00 pm on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Taylor and Modeen funeral Home. The officiate will be Wayne Padgett. In three words Corry would be depicted as nurturing, bright and loving. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Cornelia Lodes Fund, c/o Suntrust Bank.
