Claire Theresa McCabe April 10, 2013 Claire Theresa (Raffetto) McCabe, 88 of Kennebunk, Maine died on April 10, 2013 at St. Mary's Medical Center, West Palm Beach, Florida. Claire was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 31, 1925, the daughter of Louis L. Raffetto and Anna Garbarino Raffetto. She grew up in Floral Park, NY and graduated from Sewanhaka High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Edward Lennox McCabe on January 15, 1949. She and Edward resided in Stewart Manor, NY for over 25 years, where they raised their family. Claire was a housewife and worked in interior decorating at Holbro Paint Co. in Garden City, NY. She and Edward retired to Myrtle Beach, SC. They later moved to Kennebunk, ME and spent time each year in Maine and Tequesta, Florida. Claire is predeceased by Edward, her loving husband of 63 years. She is survived by their son Kevin (Patty) McCabe of Franklin Square, NY, their daughter Joan (Bruce Washburn) McCabe of Kennebunk and East Boothbay, ME, her brother Harold Raffetto of Old Westbury, NY and her grandson Daniel McCabe. A memorial celebration to honor her life will be held in Long Island, NY at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
