Charles Wayne Pilgrim

February 11, 1936 - December 14, 2012

Age 76 passed away at his home in Tequesta, FL after a long illness. He was surrounded by many family members. He is survived by his loving wife Sharon, daughter Jennifer Pilgrim and her husband Greg Wilson of Leesburg, VA., daughter Janelle Palmiotto of Sterling, VA., son James Pilgrim and his wife Tammy of Alexandria, VA. Also he leaves a step-daughter Lori Page and husband Jeff of Jupiter, FL. and stepson-in-law Brad Pettijohn and wife Tresa of Rolla, MO. He leaves 19 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Born to James Aulby Pilgrim and Claudia Breland on February 11, 1936 in Longview, Texas his family moved to the Fresno, CA. area when he was in grade school. He graduated from California State University at Fresno (Fresno State) with a degree in Civil Engineering. He also had his professional engineering license. He retired from the FAA after 34 years. His career included Maintenance Engineer in Anchorage and Fairbanks, Ak., Airport Design and Construction Engineer in Renton, WA., and Technical Information at Headquarters in Washington, D.C. He married Shirley Jean Bruhl in 1961 and they had 3 children. After her death, he met and married Sharon Townsend Clark, and gained 2 stepdaughters. Upon retirement, they traveled between Virginia and Florida, eventually settling in Florida. Chuck lived to play golf and they both liked to travel. A Funeral Service will be held 10 AM, Monday, December 17, 2010 at Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home, 250 Center St., Jupiter, FL. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park, Tequesta, FL. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33407 in loving memory of Charles Wayne Pilgrim.
