Betty Jane Heartfield Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Betty Jane Heartfield, 87, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2014 after a short illness. She was surrounded by all her children during this time. Betty was born in Boston, MA on April 16, 1927 to Arthur J. and Florence B. Anderson. She went to the Dana Hall School in Wellesley, MA and graduated from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY. She lived with her husband Charles and family in Wayland, MA and then moved to Centerville, MA, where they owned and operated the Centerville Corners Motor Lodge. They moved to Jonathans Landing in Jupiter, FL in 1981, where she lived for many years, and then moved to Mangrove Bay, and for the past 5 years lived happily at the Pavilion at Jupiter Medical Center and was the President of their Resident Council. Betty was a loving mother and devoted wife. Over the years the things that have brought her great joy were showing horses, backgammon, bridge, golf, cooking, entertaining, traveling, bingo, and most importantly, her family. She is survived by her six children from a blended family: Gale Greene (John), Gary Heartfield (Debby), Jane Dietrich, Scott Dietrich (Jennie), Mark Heartfield and Betsy Heartfield (Bill), as well as nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by her husband, Charles Heartfield; son, Arthur Dietrich and brother, Arthur "Bud" Anderson. A Memorial Service will be held at the Jupiter FIRST Church, Jupiter, FL on Friday March 20, 2015 at 2:30PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Betty's name to the Pavilion at Jupiter Medical Center, 1230 South Old Dixie Hwy., Jupiter, FL 33458.
