Steven Aristizabal

With hearts filled with love and profound sadness, we announce the passing of our cherished son, Steven Aristizabal, who left this world on November 25, 2024 at the tender age of 14. Steven was a bright light, a hard worker and so passionate for life and all it had to offer. Steven was born on September 25, 2010 at St. Mary’s Hospital in West Palm Beach, Florida. He is survived by his loving parents, Carolina and Hugo, his sister Isabella, and countless family members, friends, teammates, teachers and coaches who will always remember his radiant smile and commitment to all the pastimes and people he loved. At the age of 3, Steven began preschool at Hightech Academy and then moved to Franklin Academy in kindergarten where he would have graduated 8th grade this year. Steven was a presence at school that will be a large void to fill. From his earliest days in kindergarten, he charmed staff and friends alike with his humor and magnetic personality, and it was a privilege to witness his journey as he grew into a young man of promise, even as he navigated the ups and downs of adolescence. At school, he was not only a beloved friend and athlete but a devoted and protective brother to his younger sister, leaving behind a legacy that will forever remain in our hearts. Among friends, he was a natural leader and always brought people together with his unwavering kindness and infectious spirit. Steven’s biggest passion was soccer and a perfect example of the legacy he left as a leader, even making the ECNL National Team this year. While he was an amazing soccer player, he had so many other talents and passions at such a young age. He loved motocross, balance-trick cycling, fishing and documentaries on fishing and animals were a preferred watch for Steven. Although his time with us was cut short, the memories of Steven’s beautiful spirit for life will continue to live on in our hearts. As a family, Steven will forever leave a void in our lives, but we find solace in knowing his spirit will continue to live on in the lives he has touched, and we hold on to the love and memories he gave us for 14 years. In his final act of generosity, he donated his organs, saving the lives of four people and leaving a lasting legacy of compassion and hope. While we will never know why God took him from us so soon, we do know that God is in control, and miracles will come from tragedy. “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. Plans to prosper and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 A viewing will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024 at Taylor and Modeen Funeral Home (250 Center Street, Jupiter, FL) between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at St. Jude Catholic Church (204 N. US Highway One, Tequesta, FL) at 10:30 a.m, followed by Steven’s burial at Riverside Memorial Park (19351 SE County Line Road, Tequesta, FL).
