Patrick Joseph Rooney, Sr. (Pat) of North Side Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Hellertown Pennsylvania and Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, born March 7, 1939 passed away on October 29, 2023. Pat is preceded by his parents, Arthur J. Rooney, Sr., and Kathleen (nee McNulty) Rooney, brother Daniel M. Rooney and Patricia (nee Regan) Rooney, his twin brother John J. Rooney; nieces Kathleen, Rita and Joan and nephew James. Pat is survived by his wife Sandra Sully Rooney and their children and grandchildren and great grandchild: son Patrick J. Rooney, Jr. and family Patti (nee Kulp), Mary, Francis, Patrick III, Anthony Rooney; son Joseph A. Rooney, Sr. and family Kelly (nee Wall), Joseph, Lawrence, Roxy (nee Arguello), Clara, Melissa Rooney; daughter Theresa Rooney Meis and family Thomas, Kristen (nee Cardenas), William, Julie (nee Raiguel), Theodore Meis; son Christopher M. Rooney and family Janine (Workman), Finn, Bridget Rooney; son Thomas J. Rooney and family, Tara (nee Lombardi), Tommy, Sean, Seamus Rooney; son Brian J. Rooney and family Tiffany (nee Beach), Silas, Eleanor, Blaise, Duke Rooney; daughter Monica (Molly) Rooney Smith, husband Scott Smith and family Sandy, Tucker, Charlie, Harrison Smith; niece Suzanne Hecht and husband Robert Hecht and family Brian, Isabel, Ally and Caroline Hecht; Pat is also survived by John’s wife, JoAnn, his brother Timothy and wife June, his brother Art and wife Kathleen plus nieces Patricia, Mary Duffy, Karen, Susan, Mary Jo, Alice, Kathleen, Maggie, Bridget, Cara and nephews Arthur, Daniel, John, James, Art, Michael, Sean, Matthew, Peter and Timothy. Pat also precedes many great nieces and nephews from the Rooney Family. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Pat’s life will be held on November 4, 2023 at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 13591 Prosperity Farms Road, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, 33410. Family and friends are invited to Visitation at the Church from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM followed immediately by Mass of Christian Burial. Interment at Our Lady Queen of Peace will be private. We invite you to join us following the Mass at the Palm Beach Kennel Club, 1111 North Congress Ave., West Palm Beach, FL 33409. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
