Mary Jane Rohweller

Mary Jane Rohweller, age 92, of Okeechobee, FL passed away after a brief illness on Monday, November 20, 2023. Mary was born in George, Iowa on June 27, 1931. Raised on a farm, Mary had a lifelong love of gardening and nature. Her home was always a sanctuary for the birds flying through on their journeys. Her love for animals was evident through the many pets she adopted and cared for throughout her life. Mary was an avid crafter of crosstitch, loved her country music and could do an awesome polka. Mary was a very spiritual soul and enjoyed her daily bible devotions every day. Her faith gave her the courage and strength to rise above the many tragedies and struggles in life. She never lost her beautiful smile and wonderful laugh and positive outlook. Everyone loved and understood the meaning of her one liners - Live a Life, Enough is enough and that's enough, don't you no never mind, if you keep turning around and around, you are going to run into yourself. Truer words were never spoken. Mary was a loving, dedicated mother and so enjoyed her role as Gramma Mary to her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren. She loved her babies. Preceded in death by parents Eiso and Effie Bos, Brothers Albert, Robert and Everett Bos, her husband, Gordon Rohweller, and son Lefty Rohweller. Mary is survived by her children, Dyana Beek (Art), Madrid, Iowa, Jeannie Gallatin (John), Hobe Sound, Fl, Chuck Rohweller (Jody), Newport, NC, and Perry Rohweller (Shawna), Okeechobee, Fl. and grandchildren, Melissa Doubler (Tracy), Art Beek (Ronelle), John DJ Gallatin, Janelle Koren (Brian), Charles Rohweller, Crystal Rohweller, Tara Drobek (Nate), and Tammi Matanane. She is also survived by her Great Grandchildren, Ryan Stanley, Mikaela Stanley, Kelsi Rabass, Kody Beek, Brady Koren, Jacob Koren, Conner Creech, Charley Creech, Caitlyn Rohweller, Blake Hoag, Bryce Hoag, Payton Matanane, and Kaiden Matanane, and her Great Great Grandchildren, Stetson Beek, Kai Beek and Wren Lela Rabass. She is also survived by sisters Betty Schol (Ronnie), Sibley, Iowa and Liz Sprock, George, Iowa. The family will gather for a private celebration of life in January.
