Marvin Brown

Marvin Brown, 90, of Jupiter FL passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on September 10, 2024. Marvin was born to Robert and Mabell Brown in Blakely, GA, the youngest son of five children. Marvin grew up in Blakely and after completing school, he joined the Army. After his discharge from the Army, he returned to Blakely where he met the love of his life, Mary Alice. Soon after, the couple married and started their family. They had the first three of their five children, Mary Ann, Marvin Jr. and Ernest. Later, Marvin and Mary Alice decided to move their family to Jupiter FL where Marvin took a job in the Maintenance Department with the city of Tequesta, where he would remain employed for the next 24 years. Mary Alice took a job at Jupiter High School, working in the school cafeteria. And, within a couple of years of getting settled in Jupiter, their family would grow to include their two youngest daughters, Carolyn and Clementine. Marvin and his family spent the next six decades calling Jupiter home. And Jupiter was the perfect place for him and Mary Alice to fish- they both loved fishing and fished every chance they got. And, everyone that knew Marvin knew- when you ran into Marvin, he was always ready with a joke. Faith was at the center of Marvin and Mary Alice’s lives and they instilled the value and importance of living a life filled with a love for God in their children. They faithfully attended Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church every Sunday and lived their lives according to their strong Christian values. As important to Marvin as his faith was his family. Marvin spent a lifetime showing his family unconditional love- he loved his children and was crazy about his grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Marvin was full of love and pride for his family, and he cherished them as much as they cherished him. “There are no more like him and there will be no more like Mr. Brown.” He will be deeply missed by his family, his friends and those whose lives he touched throughout his 90 years. Marvin was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Mabell Brown; his loving wife, Mary Alice Brown; his son, Marvin Lewis Brown, Jr.; his siblings, Charles Brown, Anna Lee Brown, Daisy Bell Brown Stringer and Inell Brown Tempson. He is survived by his children, Mary Ann Toney, Ernest Brown, Carolyn Brown and Clementine Brown; his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. A Visitation and Viewing will be held at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Jupiter, this Saturday, September 14th from 11:00am-1:00pm. The Funeral Service will be held from 1:00pm-2:00pm and will be, directly, followed by the burial at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
