Karla Kimbrell Knight

Karla passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on February 25, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved her deeply and countless memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. Karla was a strong, independent soul with a gypsy spirit and a love for adventure. She spent much of her life moving between places she loved, from Ohio to Indiantown then to Louisiana and eventually settling in Palm Beach Gardens with the love of her life and the father of her children, Billy Ray Knight Sr. In her younger years, she was a proud cheerleader at Jupiter High School and found great joy in attending her class reunions over the years. She was a true country girl at heart who loved music, concerts, and festivals, and she never missed a chance to have a good time. Karla had a way of bringing people together and was often the life of the party. She loved fishing, spending time outdoors, gardening, and raising chickens. She knew a little bit about everything; plants, animals, illnesses, and home remedies. She was the kind of woman who could always figure things out and get things done. Whether it was stitching up a cut, offering advice, or lending a helping hand, Karla was someone people could always count on. Above all, Karla was the backbone for who she loved, and the matriarch of her family. She was fiercely protective of her children and taught them how to fish, how to be strong, and how to take care of themselves. Her home was always open, and she welcomed anyone who needed love or a place to belong. Cousins, friends, and neighbors alike knew that if you walked through her door, you were family. To many, she was simply “Mom.” Karla worked for many years in a doctor’s office before beginning a career as a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service, where she served her community faithfully until her retirement just a few years ago. In recent years, Karla faced significant health challenges, including breast cancer, radiation treatments, and ongoing heart issues. Though her road was not always easy, she continued to face life with strength and resilience. Karla is survived by her five children, Jennifer and Husband Michael, Jessica, Billy Jr. and his wife Stella, Justin, and Emily and many others she considered her children. She was a proud grandmother to Shawn, Shania, Savannah, Brandon, Brianna, Lylah, and Billy the 3rd and a loving great-grandmother to Jack Nolan and LJ. She also had another grandchild and 2 great grandchildren on the way she was so excited to meet. Her passing has left a deep void in the lives of her family and all who knew her. Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in believing that God called her home so she could finally rest. Karla will be remembered for her strength, her wild and adventurous spirit, her generosity, and the love she gave so freely. The lessons she taught, the laughter she shared, and the memories she created will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved her.
