Jacqueline “Jackie” Brice 1935 – 2026 ____________________________ Jacqueline “Jackie” Brice, 91, of Jupiter, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on August 18, 2026. Born Jacqueline Holliday in Miami, Florida, on July 11, 1935, to Limmie and Jack Holliday, Jackie lived a life rich in family, faith, art, and an enduring appreciation for the beauty around her. Jackie married Herman Brice on February 27, 1954, at Tarboux United Methodist Church in Miami. She shared 72 years of marriage with her husband. Their love for one another remained at the heart of the life they built together, a quiet and enduring example to the family who loved them. Together, Jackie and Herman built a life deeply rooted in Florida. Both were natives of Miami and raised their two children, Debbie and Woody there before relocating to Palm Beach County in 1984. Through the years, they were enormously proud of their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and took great joy in watching each of them build lives and families of their own. Jackie began painting in 1967 and went on to become one of Florida’s distinguished landscape artists. She studied for many years with renowned Florida artist A.E. “Bean” Backus, who became an important mentor and friend. Her paintings captured the beauty of the Florida she knew and loved. Over the course of her career, Jackie’s work became part of important private and public collections, including The White House, The Florida House in Washington, D.C., and the State Capital building in Tallahassee. Her many professional honors included recognition as the 2014 Florida House on Capital Hill distinguished artist, inclusion in the archives of the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C., and she received the Daughters of the American Revolution Women in the arts award. In 2012, Jackie was inducted into the Florida Artists Hall of Fame, recognizing her lasting contribution to the artistic and cultural heritage of her home state. For all she accomplished as an artist, Jackie’s greatest joy was found much closer to home. She was a strong and steady presence in the lives of those she loved, endlessly proud of her family and always there to support them. She also knew how to make life fun. When her grandchildren were young, an ordinary afternoon at her house could become “Jackie’s Café,” with Jackie draping a towel over her arm and happily playing waitress for as long as they wanted. Glass jars filled with snacks and candy lined her counter for generations of children who always knew where to find them. Jackie had a wonderful sense of humor and loved music and dancing, pleasures that continued to bring her happiness throughout her life. She loved the Lord and served faithfully in her church, The First United Methodist of Jupiter-Tequesta. She loved her family deeply and had a way of making the people she loved feel cherished. Jackie is survived by her husband of 72 years, Herman Brice; her daughter, Debbie Corry and husband Ed; her grandson, Dustin Brice; her granddaughters, Lindsay Daw and husband Ryan, and Lauren Longino and husband Josh; and her four great-grandchildren, Mason, Logan and Weston Daw, and Katie Grace Longino. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Woody Brice. Jackie leaves behind a beautiful legacy in the art she created, the family she treasured, the church she loved, and the countless lives made brighter simply by knowing her. A celebration of Jackie’s life will be held Saturday, August 29, 2026, at First United Methodist Church of Jupiter-Tequesta, 815 E. Indiantown Road, Jupiter, Florida. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Growing Together, where Jackie’s great-granddaughter, Katie Grace, attends school.
