Barbara A. Newhouse

Barbara Ann Newhouse, age 58 of Tequesta, FL, died on Saturday, February 7th, 2015, thus completing her journey with ALS Lou Gehrig's Disease. She passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Barbara was born on March 28, 1956 and lived in Tequesta FL with her loving husband, Ernest Newhouse. Barbara was born in Albany, NY and moved to Palm Beach County with her family when she was 14 years old. She is survived by her husband, Ernest Newhouse, children, Michael & Matthew Morrow & Ernest Newhouse Jr; her daughters-in-law, Laura & Corey Morrow & Melissa Newhouse as well as 5 beautiful grandchildren; Liam & Lilly Morrow; Ashley, Zachary & Lacy Newhouse, and her sister, Catherine Therrien, and her many nieces, nephews, and friends. Barbara was a wonderfully loving, caring person that adored her husband of 21 years, as well as her family and friends. She touched everyone with her kind heart, giving grace and beautiful smile whether you had known her all your life or had just met her for the first time. Her spirit was strong and filled with love and life! Barbara was a wonderful wife, mother and friend. Barbara worked for Tequesta Insurance Advisors, formally known as the Tequesta Agency, for 22 years as an Insurance Agent, Account Manager. She was loved by all, including her clients that she had formed so many relationships. She was very proud of her work and accomplishments over the years and was great friends with clients and coworkers alike, forming friendships that lasted a lifetime. Her favorite pastime was quilting and her talent goes beyond words. Barbara spent countless hours shopping at the fabric store with sister-in-law Catherine that often started at 10:00 in the morning and lasted late into the afternoon. She spent as much time as she could in her sewing room piecing together beautiful patterns, quilting and completing masterpiece after masterpiece. Many were blessed to have a quilt made by her hands. She also treasured the days spent on the beach with her husband Ernie, soaking up the Florida sun. Barb also lived for her yearly trip with her sister, Cathy, when they travelled to Tennessee to search for treasure along US127's Longest Yard Sale. The gems they found were something to brag about, but the best part for Barb was spending time with her beloved sister. Her family wishes to thank everyone who has been so caring and supportive through this difficult time. Barbara will be remembered on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at Taylor and Modeen Funeral Home, 250 Center Street, Jupiter, FL. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 PM, with a memorial service to follow from 7 to 8 PM. The burial will follow the next day at 11:00 AM at Riverside Memorial Park, 19351 Southeast County Line Road, Tequesta, FL.
