Theresa Rose Glynn

Theresa Rose Glynn, 87, of Bristol, formerly of West Hartford beloved wife of the late John F. Glynn, passed away peacefully at her home (Shady Oaks) on November 17, 2019 with family at her side. Theresa was born May 11, 1932 in Hartford. The devoted daughter of the late Francis and Bridget LaMotta, she lived with her parents, husband, and two daughters for many happy years in their home in West Hartford. Theresa graduated from Buckley High School and then realizing her passion for nursing went on to graduate from Saint Francis School of Nursing. Nursing came second nature to her and after a short time as an emergency room nurse at McCook Hospital she decided on industrial nursing working for the Fenn Manufacturing Company. After this she went to head the Medical Department for Hartford National Bank and was instrumental in developing their first Employee Assistance program. Theresa brought her special dose of care to anyone and everyone that entered the bank. Theresa was a fabulous cook and loved entertaining. No one left the dinner table hungry. She also loved gardening, sewing, knitting, and crocheting. If you received one of her homemade items you felt lucky. Besides these talents she enjoyed cards, mahjong, and the nickel slots. Since her father instilled a love for sports she took up tennis later in life and she and her husband developed great friendships playing a mean game of doubles. She was also an avid fan of the MBA and loved “Dr. J”. Her favorite places were near the water and mountains and she loved her family cabin in Beckett, and her condominium in Cape Canaveral where she collected her shells and walked the beach. But Theresa biggest love was her family and she will be dearly missed by her daughter Kathy Tremblay and her husband Tom of Bloomfield, and her daughter Debbie Konst and her husband Mark of Newport News, VA. She also leaves her cherished granddaughters, Jenifer, Heather, and Amanda and her four precious great grandchildren, Zachary, Scarlett, Ashlyn, and Dean as well as her dearest friends David and Roberta. The family is extremely grateful to Tyson Belanger and the staff at Shady Oaks Assisted Living for the amazing care they gave Theresa and more importantly providing her a warm, loving atmosphere which she called “home”. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 23, 2019, 10 a.m. at the Church of Saint Timothy 1116 North Main St., West Hartford. Burial will follow at Rocky Hill Memorial Park in Rocky Hill. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers or donations, please pass on Theresa’s smile to all you meet.
