Nancy Carol Stevenson Holyst

Nancy Carol Stevenson Holyst passed away peacefully while in the presence of her loving family on June 23, 2021. Nancy was born to George and Edith Stevenson and was raised in Lansing, West Virginia, the ninth of eleven children. She and her beloved husband Henry met while serving in the Navy in 1954. They were both awarded Certificates of Recognition for their military service. Nancy and ‘Hank’ married in 1955, raised four children, embraced eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. They enjoyed 46 years of devoted marriage. Nancy and Hank retired to Jupiter Florida where they found a new home at the Chasewood Condominiums. Nancy was an active Chasewood resident, and donated her time to the community that she loved for over 30 years. Nancy is preceded in death by her husband Hank, and all of her siblings. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Terri and Jim Monroe, Trudy Holyst and Mike Glabere, Herb Holyst and Babs Racca, Tricia and Pete Litwinchuk, eight grandchildren: Ian, Jon, Shane, Collin, Trevor, Simon, Katie and Emma, as well as her four great-grandchildren: Finley, Atlas, Zyla and Apollo. Nancy was loved by everyone. She enjoyed reading, sewing, dancing, camping, gardening, and being surrounded by nature. She was an expert at crossword puzzles, a fierce Scrabble player, an avid golfer, and was an enthusiastic and competitive card player. She was a spiritual Catholic and devoted to God. Family was everything to her. Her grandkids called her ‘Mom-Mom’, but she spread so much love and affection that many who knew her also called her Mom-Mom. Nancy embraced life and proudly lived independently until her passing. Nancy’s life was an example of a life well lived in service to others, with commitment to faith and family. She was truly an Angel. A viewing will be held at Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home on Tuesday June 29th, from 5:00pm-8:00pm. Catholic Funeral Mass of Burial will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church 1701 Indian Creek Pkwy, Jupiter, FL on Wednesday June 30th at 10:00am. Internment following the Mass will be at Riverside Memorial Park 19351 SE County Line Rd. Tequesta, FL 33469 An informal gathering will follow the graveside internment at the Chasewood Clubhouse, 6381 Chasewood Drive in Jupiter.
