Josephine M. Magnan

Josephine Dempsey Magnan passed away peacefully at her home on March 25, 2017. Born in 1929, she graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Revere, MA. Josephine married the love of her life Bob in 1954 and they were married for 60 years. Josephine is survived by her children, Patrice (David) Peterson, Janice (Matthew) Meehan, Denice Graves and Maureen Magnan and her husband Michael Caron, and her grandchildren, Mary Margaret and Michael Meehan and Rachael and Dylan Graves and Mackenzie Caron and brother Jack Dempsey. She is predeceased by her husband, Robert, her daughter Mary and her brothers James, Joseph and Robert Dempsey. She led a deeply religious life, always relying on her faith for guidance. She was most recently a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in West Hartford where, in 2015, she proudly sponsored the Angel Tree at Christmas time. A proud Bostonian, she loved her time working in Boston and especially enjoyed her dates with her sweetheart at the Parker House Hotel. Growing up by the ocean, she found inspiration walking the beach both in Revere and Naples, Fla. While raising her daughters in Peabody and Longmeadow, MA Josephine, held many jobs and volunteer positions. Underwriter for USF&G, market researcher, and tax examiner for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Girl Scout troop leader, member of the Legion of Mary, and active in the Democratic Party. Josephine was very proud of her recent work with State Senator Beth Bye and the staff of the Appropriations Committee. Her family would like to thank the wonderful staff and administration of Hamilton Heights for all the kindness and support they gave to their mother and entire family during the past year.
