Beverly A. Kingsley

Beverly Ann Kingsley, aged 79, died peacefully on April 7, 2012 at Apple Rehab in Old Saybrook, CT, where she was a resident for the last several years. Beverly was born in Hartford, CT to Arthur Kingsley of Salem CT and Arline Simpkin of Hartford. A graduate of Hall High School and Hartford Secretarial School, Beverly was employed by Northeast Utilities for over 40 years as an Executive Assistant and later as a Business Analyst. After retiring in 1994, Beverly became fully engaged in a project she had envisioned for years, creating a detailed to-scale dollhouse, complete with working lights, a Thanksgiving dinner, and decorations for every holiday. She also loved to knit, creating her own patterns and supplying her nieces and nephews with beautiful clothes, accessories, and blankets. She loved reading, working on puzzles, and swimming in Long Island Sound with her beach friends in summer. She also loved sports. She had season tickets to the Hartford Whalers and was a lifelong Red Sox fan, although they often gave her cause to regret it. Baba, as she was known to family and close friends, had a great sense of humor and was always ready to laugh, especially at herself. Beverly volunteered her time at the UConn Medical Center in Farmington, Meals on Wheels and Loaves and Fishes. She also served on the Altar Guild at St. John's Episcopal Church in West Hartford where she was a long-time member. She was also a member of the Town and County Club. Beverly is survived by her beloved sister and best friend Janet Kingsley Willard of Farmington, niece Leigh Ann Rapp, her husband Curtis, their children Katherine, Abigail and Samuel, all of Marietta, GA; nephew Bill Willard, his wife Elizabeth Michalski, and their children Emma and Alexander of Haverhill, MA. The family would like to thank the staff at Apple Rehab for their wonderful care and concern, especially Heather, Ann-marie, and Jaimie. A memorial service will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church in West Hartford on April 28th at noon.
