Barbara Lee Nickler

Barbara Lee Nickler, age 90, of Jupiter, Florida, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 30, 2022. Barbara was the oldest child of the late Charles I. Bryan and Hazel E. Bryan. Born and raised in the Maryland area, and later employed by the federal government in Washington D.C. In the mid 1980's, she moved to south Florida where she was a quintessential homemaker and continued to be a servant of the Lord in various capacities such as an Elder at her Church, Stephen Ministry, and Guardian Ad Litem. Barbara is preceded in death by husbands Martin Corey Snyder Sr. and Arthur Loyal Nickler, in addition her siblings: Charles (Sonny) Bryan, Marion Millard, Danny Bryan, and Rena Haines. Barbara is survived by her sister Helen Meaney, West Virginia; step-daughter Cindy Alwood, California; step-granddaughter Michelle Klinges, Florida; and numerous relatives and friends throughout the United States and Australia. Barbara enjoyed connecting with other people. Throughout her life, Barbara always put the needs of others before her own. The love she had for her family, friends, and even strangers was boundless. Although her presence will be missed beyond measure, she leaves behind a legacy of being a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, and humble servant. She was strong, stubborn, and fought to survive for most of her life. She gracefully continued that fight up to the very last moment. Barbara enjoyed many years working and walking in her garden and seemed to gather strength there even as her health declined. She now walks in a new garden surrounded by beauty and love. A memorial service will be held at 10am June 8 in the chapel at First Presbyterian Church, 717 Prosperity Farms Road, North Palm Beach. A Christian burial will be held at 1:30pm at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth. Face masks are required. Barbara always chose to love everyone and to give to others whenever she saw a need. In lieu of flowers, or donations to a particular charity -- choose to love others as Barbara would have. Deliver a home cooked meal to a neighborhood family. Volunteer/donate to an outreach program at the local church. Support your local hospice or Alzheimer's Association as they support others during their greatest time of need. Or give to an organization that you believe makes a difference in this world.
